How did you get started with your business?
 

Lush Baubles, like many great adventures, began as a small, part-time hobby business. It all started with Kylie's desire to explore her creative and artistic side. At first, it was just a playful tinkering with beads and gemstones. But as the saying goes, "Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life." Over time, Kylie honed her skills, and her passion for crafting beautiful pieces grew stronger. She decided it was time to take her business a little more seriously, and Lush Baubles was born.

Tell us about how you make your products:
 

One of the things that make Lush Baubles truly special is the meticulous craftsmanship that goes into each piece. Kylie's hands are the artisans behind these exquisite creations. She engages in the art of hand-wiring, ensuring not just beauty but enduring quality. It's a process that involves a lot of patience and precision, but the results are nothing short of magical.

Every piece of Lush Baubles jewellery incorporates a variety of antique or vintage elements, along with precious and semi-precious gemstones. And here's the kicker - they are all ethical and conflict-free. Each piece can take anywhere from a few hours to several days to complete.

Do you work on your business full-time? Or is your business a side project you enjoy?
 

As of today, Lush Baubles is Kylie's full-time gig. But the journey to this point is a story in itself. Thirteen-odd years ago, when she became a stay-at-home Mum, jewellery-making became her soothing escape amidst the whirlwind of parenthood. With a bit more time on her hands, she embraced the opportunity to turn Lush Baubles into a full-time endeavour, dedicating herself entirely to the business. It's a testament to the power of following your passions.

As a small business owner, what has been the biggest challenge that you've faced?
 

Like many small business owners, Kylie faced her share of challenges. The closure of most handmade markets during the Covid-19 period was a tough blow, both from a lifestyle and a financial aspect. But Kylie's resilience and creativity shone through, and she adapted to the changing times.

Lately, she would say the greatest challenge is staying fresh and innovative with her style. In a world where trends come and go, Kylie strives to produce jewellery items that are new and relevant to the market. It's a delicate dance between tradition and innovation, and Kylie does it with finesse.

What are your goals for the future?
 

Kylie's dreams for Lush Baubles are as enchanting as her creations. Ideally, she would like to take Lush Baubles online, to supplement market sales and take the brand internationally. Imagine Lush Baubles' whimsical baubles gracing wrists and necks across the globe! It's a vision that's as bright and sparkling as her jewellery.
